Final Version
Lightbulb Multibanlist creator

Hello Server Owners,
I have written a Script, which allows it to create your own Multibanlists.
It will download the desired Banlists from the following Organisations:
ACI, AASA, AON, PSB and PBB.
Then it will filter dublicate GUIDs and merge the List into one big Banlist.

Pro:
- You do not have double or triple Bans on one GUID.
- Because of that, you will have 50.000 Bans instead of 107.000.
- It makes the Banlist smaller and does not waste Disk Space.
- Punkbuster will have less work with less Bans.
- The Server will run better and faster with alot less Memory.

Contra:
- It takes up to 10 Minutes to generate the List.

What do you need to run this Script?
- You need a Rootserver with php installed

Why should I use the Script?
- Because less Bans will make the Server faster
- Because you dont need to update Bans manualy anymore
- Because the Banlists are fully customizeable.

How do I install the Script on Linux?
1. Install PHP, if not already done! (Type "apt-get install php4-cli" into the Console)
2. Configure your Script! (Open and edit the Script)
3. Upload it onto your Server! (In the Folder: "AAO/System/pb")
4. Run the Script by typing "./generate.php > /dev/null &"

How do I install the Script on Windows?
1. Install PHP
2. Configure the Script
3. Load it onto the Server
4. Run the Script

If anyone has Problems with it, please let me know!
BTW: If your Server explodes because of this Script, its not my fault .

Here is the Script: (NEW VERSION)

Here is my Tutorial, howto install PHP on your Windows Homecomputer to run the script locally: ( Written in 27 Minutes )

What to do to run the Script locally?
Download PHP here http://de3.php.net/get/php-5.2.5-win...om/this/mirror and start the installer. Next everything until you see a Page with 10 or more selectboxes. Choose "Do not setup a Webserver" and go on. If you have installed PHP, your Script is ready to go.

Download the Version of the Script, I rewrote it for local use under Windows.
Open it and configure it as you like. Do a rightclick on the PHP File and select "Open with... --> Choose Program" Select Browse, go to the PHP Directory (C:/Programs/PHP) and choose "PHP.exe". Press "Open". Choose CLI if it is not already selected. Than press OK. The Script should be running now.

Windows Version:

Hey this is a great thing you made here. But I'm having a little trouble with it...

I have PHP running on Leopard and it executes and all (after adding set_time_limit(0); to the start of the file to keep it executing after the default 30 sec max execution time in php) but it's not doing 2 things for me.

All the GUID's and all are on a single line, and it doesn't output the banlist to a .dat. I created a empty file because maybe it has to exist first, but that didn't have any effect on it. Do you have any suggestions?

Again, great job on the script I've been looking for something like this.

UPDATE: Found some answers. When outputting it to the browser, the browser takes \n and treats it as whitespace. You can fix this by having the script echo "<pre>" at the start (of course close it at the end) and the browser will treat the linebreaks as linebreaks. In the file output, the line breaks are there so that's good. And the reason it wasn't creating the file was due to permissions of the folder. The folder must be writable by 'everyone', or the file does at least, else the OS will not allow the script to write to any files. On OSX you do this by hitting Command + I, going to permissions and letting the group 'everyone' have write ability. I'm not sure how to do this on other operating systems. Also don't try running this on any web host unless its dedicated, this script takes about 8 min to execute on my 2.66GHz MacPro and will likely result in any shared host suspending your account do to CPU usage.

Well, the Script was not written to be run with your Browser. So HTML is not needed. The Script has to be run from the PHP.exe locally, or your PHP lib on Linux Rootserver. If you run the Script from your Browser it may happen that the File is not created as you may not have certain rights.

Roger the browser was the first thing I turned to when I couldn't figure out how to execute it from command line (the command is php [file path] btw on OSX).

Again nice work on the script, so far a few servs on A*A 2.5 are already running it.

Easy install of Apache and php

best solution I have found thus far for installing Apache and PHP on a windows box is the use of Xampp from a group called Apache Friends.

It will install everything you need for a web server, including Apache Server, MySQL, PHP, FTP Server and Mail server. All done with a single easy to use install with very intuitive setup and operation I personally use it to run my own art gallery from my PC and it works flawlessly. Combined with soemthing like NoIP dns service you will have a fully functional web server running on your own box in no time at all. With that you can then use any PHP scripts you wish to accomplish many different task's.

Note to anyone using this script: It appears that AON has changed the location of their banlist. Thankfully, the syntax is the same and replacing
Code:
$LINKAON="http://members.dslextreme.com/users/aon/aon_bans.dat";
with
Code:
$LINKAON="http://www.emailcart.net/mbl/aon_bans.dat";
will do the trick.

If you're running this script, AASA changed their domain to .net instead of .com. So make sure the $LINKAASA line reads this to include their bans as well:
Code:
$LINKAASA="http://appeals.aaserveradmins.net/aasaprivbanguid.txt";
